The AMPTEC 620A-4R Ruggedized Safety Ohmmeter

The 620A-4R Water Resistant Safety Ohmmeter (Igniter Tester) internally is electrically identical to the US Air Force safety board approved AMPTEC 620A-4 Igniter Tester circuitry. It has had its circuitry reviewed and approved by U.S.A.F. NonNuclear Munition Safety Board for use on all NonNuclear Munitions (i.e. U.S.A.F. AIM-7 Sparrow Missile Warhead squibs, AIM-9 Sidewinder  Warhead and Rocket Motor squibs - AIM 120 AMRAAM Missiles, Stinger, Army Standard Missile, Flares, C-130 Fire Bottle Squibs, US ARMY TOW Missile and more). 

It has also passed  (MIL STD 810 Method 511 Use in Explosive and Volatile Atmospheres Use (i.e. jet fuel, hydorcarbon fuel air )- won't make a spark   tested at an indepentdent test lab. The advantage is the AMPTEC 620A-4R is a ruggedized, water-resistant, portable digital ohmmeter which have been specifically designed for ultra-safe resistance testing on explosive devices (i.e. squibs, igniters, flares, detonators). The 620A-4R case is water proof when closed to a depth of 3 feet. Failsafe Design - Built-in Life Saving Features

There are a number of critical military, commercial aerospace, and aircraft applications that use squibs (i.e Boeing 777 Aircraft Fire Control Systems), EEDs (electronic explosive device), detonators, explosive bolts, and a number of explosive/blasting devices. It is critically important that these devices detonate when properly triggered. It is also critically important that these devices do not detonate while being tested for wiring continuity/integrity. AMPTEC RESEARCH manufactures each instrument (Igniter Tester) with redundant, dual fail-safe protection which includes current limiting and resistor network circuitry that limits and insures that the instrument test currents cannot exceed the specified amount. Even in the unlikely event of a worst case component failure, the output current limiting network is still in effect. The unit is CE marked, and includes a US N.I.S.T Calibration Certificate and Certificate of Compliance and Universal Input (100 VAC to 240 VAC input) Battery Charger for Universal International Use - No Extra Charge.

Approved by Boeing for Testing the Boeing C-17 Transport and the Boeing 777 Aircraft Fire Control System

The AMPTEC 620A-4R Safety Ohmmeter/Igniter Tester is approved by Boeing Aircraft Company for use on commercial Boeing 777 Fire Control (Fire Bottle Squib) Systems and emergency escape slide squibs and carries the CE Mark.  Since the AMPTEC 620A-4R Igniter Tester is ruggedized to a IP53 Dust and Water Resistance rating and water-proof to 4' depth (lid closed), it can be operated in virtually any kind of weather condition (i.e. direct rain, dust storm). 

Integrity of Measurement and an instrument's accuracy is important to us and should be important to you. Faraday Cage provides Electronic Noise Immunity, EMP and Static protection
