The AMPTEC 620A-4R Ruggedized Safety Ohmmeter

The 620A-4R Water Resistant Safety Ohmmeter (Igniter Tester) internally is identical to the US Air Force safety board approved AMPTEC 620A-4 Igniter Tester circuitry.  The advantage is the AMPTEC 620A-4R is a ruggedized, water-resistant, portable digital ohmmeter which have been specifically designed for ultra-safe resistance testing on explosive devices (i.e. squibs, igniters, flares, detonators). The 620A-4R case is water proof when closed to a depth of 3 feet. Failsafe Design - Built-in Can't Fail Life Saving Features

There are a number of critical military, commercial aerospace, and aircraft applications that use squibs (i.e Boeing 777 Aircraft Fire Control Systems), EEDs (electronic explosive device), detonators, explosive bolts, and a number of explosive/blasting devices. It is critically important that these devices detonate when properly triggered. It is also critically important that these devices do not detonate while being tested for wiring continuity/integrity. AMPTEC RESEARCH manufactures each instrument (Igniter Tester) with redundant, dual fail-safe protection which includes current limiting and resistor network circuitry that limits and insures that the instrument test currents cannot exceed the specified amount. Even in the unlikely event of a worst case component failure, the output current limiting network is still in effect.

Stray Voltage Measurement Option - 0 to 200 VDC or RMS AC

The Option "200V" allows the 620A-4R Igniter Tester to measure squib related wiring to safely determine if any stray voltage is present. Both DC voltage and AC voltage up to 200 volts RMS (199.99 VDC or RMS ACV) may be measured when this option is installed. All other capabilities and resistance ranges ranges stay the same.

Approved by Boeing for Testing the Boeing C-17 Transport and the Boeing 777 Aircraft Fire Control System

The AMPTEC 620A-4R Safety Ohmmeter/Igniter Tester is approved by Boeing Aircraft Company for use on commercial Boeing 777 Fire Control (Fire Bottle Squib) Systems and emergency escape slide squibs.  Since the 620A-4R Igniter Tester is ruggedized and water-proof, it can be operated in virtually any kind of weather condition (i.e. direct rain, dust storm).

Faraday Cage provides Electronic Noise Immunity, EMP and Static protection
