A DAY IN THIS POSITION:
You arrive at our facility, clock in, and log into our automated system to review your assignments. A tray of labeled components and a build guide/instructional manual/schematic awaits you at your workstation. You plug in your earbuds, listen to your favorite podcast or album, and get to work placing your components in their specified locations on the circuit board you've been provided. At lunch, you use our full kitchen to make yourself a meal, and then head outside to eat by the pool on our covered patio. You take in the sights and sounds of the hill country until your break is over. After lunch, you catch up with a few of your coworkers before getting back to your project. Now it's time to solder your components to the board. You take your time, knowing your supervisor trusts you to ask questions when necessary and otherwise allows you the freedom and trust that you'll complete your assignment in a reasonable amount of time. You take a few notes of your own to assist you the next time you're asked to complete a similar project. You complete your project in the late afternoon, mark it as finished in our automated system, and secure it snugly in an ESD-resistant bag. It's time to clock out!
As you grow your skills with us, you will eventually be trained on a wide variety of our products, and learn how to bring them alive from individual components all the way to the finished instrument! Interested in diagnosing problems? If you have the aptitude for it, we'll also train you on how to troubleshoot errors as a part of our repair team. Every increase in your skillset will be accounted for and result in pay raises and/or bonuses.
